Last time the A4 will be drivable for a while

Okay so it’s be beginning of June and the A4 has been sat on this driveway for a week or so while I figured out a plan of action and started ordering in some parts and supplies.

A4-before-work-started

Plan for the exterior is to remove all traces of Chrome and get this painted gloss black, along with gloss back roof, mirrors and exhaust recess. Delete the front licence plate recess and attend to stone chips, dings and any rust spots. There’ll be a new front splitter that will absolutely not be that Seat Cupra thing everyone seems to use these days. I also plan to further mod the headlights as I’m unhappy with the stock indicators and there’s still too much chrome in there for my liking, even after the Joey mod last year.

Plan for the interior is pretty serious; gut everything. Headliner and pillars will be retrimmed in black/charcoal Alcantara, dash and centre console (after some repair /modification) to be trimmed in medium/light grey Alcantara with contrasting stitching.

I’ll be switching the glove box CD changer for an AUX input that will hook up to a phone or tablet dock.  I will run the stock single DIN CD player and create space below for a phone/tablet dock by doing a double DIN conversion and modifying the double cage to accept the single DIN unit.

Certainly got my work cut out, and I want it all finished in time to take on holiday to Newquay in August. Maybe unrealistic, but it always helps to aim for a date.
